US Community Media Organizations Co-locate Annual Conferences
The Alliance for Community Media (ACM) and the National Federation of Community Broadcasters (NFCB) announce the co-location of their 2013 annual conferences in San Francisco, May 29-31, 2013. Both ACM and NFCB serve constituents providing critical local news, programming and information to the communities they serve. ACM organizes mostly local access television channels and NFCB community radio. The conferences will provide attendees the opportunity to participate in select joint plenary sessions and workshops.
“We are thrilled to partner with NFCB and provide our members with the opportunity to learn, network and share best practices,” said Sylvia Strobel, ACM Executive Director. “The media industry has changed radically and continues to evolve daily. We want to provide community media centers with new partnership opportunities and a renewed sense of shared community and service.”
“Collaboration, public service and impact are central themes moving forward throughout the community media environment. We expect our partnership with the ACM to be transformative for our respective memberships and organizations,” said Maxie C Jackson III, NFCB President and CEO. “With the ongoing uncertainty of funding, rapidly evolving convergence of media technology and opportunity in emerging demographics, both NFCB and ACM are focused on and excited about the work ahead.”
